Join Medford Leas residents for this field trip to the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. This is a birdwatcher’s paradise and great spot for photographers and nature lovers! Participants can expect to see Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Black-crowned Night heron, Yellow-crowned Night heron, White Ibis, Glossy Ibis, likely Little Blue Heron and if you are lucky a White-faced Ibis. In addition, Boat-tailed Grackles and various gull species should be in the area.
Photo opportunities include catching birds on their nest sites. Typically, you can get close enough to get some great shots from your cell phone camera.
Meet the group at the Medford Campus Community Building for departure at 8:00 am. The group will return at approximately 4:00 pm.
All participants will need to provide their own transportation; however carpooling is strongly encouraged.
