Resident Technology Learning Committee

The Resident Technology Learning Committee (RTLC) helps residents with questions about their smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer as well as the ever-expanding array of other smart devices. It provides regularly scheduled meetings where residents can find help from other residents. Further support is provided by guest experts and the Medford Leas Information Technology Department. These meetings also identify residents with special knowledge who are willing to share that knowledge. Help is also available at the RTLC website. Residents have access to the RTLC high-quality printer, so they don’t have to invest in one at home. Residents can expand their skills by experimenting with different equipment owned by MLRA/RTLC. The Committee keeps both the copier and printer, located in the main library, in condition for residents to use at all times.

Theater

The Theater Committee provides resident technicians who operate the equipment in the Theater’s sound booth during resident activities in the Medford Leas Theater (Medford Leas staff operate the equipment for staff activities). This includes lighting, audio/visual equipment including inputs from computers, Blu-ray/DVD players, Apple TV, and more. The presentations are normally shown on the projector in the Theater but may also be shown on Medford Leas TV Channel 15 or recorded for upload to the MLRA website.

Lumberton Technology

The Lumberton Technology Committee oversees and educates residents on the proper use of the electronic equipment in the Community Center. Its areas of responsibility include audiovisual and projection equipment, the copier/printer/scanner, headsets for the hearing-impaired, and the low-vision magnifier. They also interface with the IT department on the maintenance of this equipment and the Media Board.

In the private, password-protected directory, the MLRA Activities List and LCRA Committees List provide contact information for these activities.
