On June 12, members of the Long Beach Island Garden Club traveled to Medford Leas to honor Marilyn Flagler for her service to the club. Marilyn was presented with a certificate paying tribute to her 25 years of membership and a gray brick engraved with her name. The brick will be added to the other bricks at the Beach Haven Library that have been engraved with the names of past presidents of the garden club.
In 2000, Marilyn wrote Gardening at the Shore, which is still in print.
Soon after arriving at Medford Leas, Marilyn organized the monthly “Let’s Talk Gardening” program at the Lois Forrest Nature Library, bringing together active and like-minded residents to exchange useful ideas and information.
