Jane Lange’s quilt depicting an African lilac-breasted roller was voted the People’s Choice by the attendees at the Berry Basket Quilt Show on Sunday, October 9, here in Medford Township! There were 175 quilts in the event. Her talent in quilting is amazing, and so many have enjoyed seeing her quilts when on display here at Medford Leas! I feel proud to say she is my neighbor! Way to sew, Jane! Congrats from all of us!
Jane first saw a lilac–breasted roller while on a trip to Kenya in the 70s. The beautiful colors stayed in her mind. She recently found a good picture and used a collage technique to create the quilt. It was finished with a thread painting method.
