Campus Communications to
index
The Communications Comittee oversees the coordination of the resident
Cluster Groups, the drafting of the Handbook,
production of the Newsletter, updating
of the Resident Directory. This committee also
oversees the Campus Mail.
Lumberton
Community Center to
index
The Community Center Committee includes the following subcommittees:
- Art
Gallery subcommittee
selects and hangs qrtwork of distinguished resident artists.
- Building
Audit subcommittee
regularly inspects the Community Center.
- Bulletin
Board subcommittee
sets rules regarding the use of the limited space on the Bulletin
Boards and keeps the posted material current.
- Kitchen
subcommittee maintains
the supplies in the kitchen and keeps the refrigerator cleard
of outdated foods and beverages
- Library
and Bookmobile subcommittee
organizes and manages books, DVDs, and audio books donated by
residents. The collection is reviewed periodically and excess
or outdated books are donated to the Medford Leas Annual Community
Day Book Sale. Books are not returned to those who donated them.
The Bookmobile schedule is posted on the Bulletin Board.

Lumberton
Pool and Fitness to
index
The Pool and Fitness Center Committee, in consultation with
the Fitness Staff, sets the rules and regulations for the Fitness
Center and swimming pool and the scheduling of organized activities
in these areas.
Each
April the opening of a the outdoor, heated pool is celebrated
with a "Polar Bear Dip" which includes a ribbon cutting
ceremony, food, plenty of horse-play. View

one-hour Water Exercise classes are offered three times a week.
The Water Volley Ball enthusiasts play twice a week at 10:30
on Tuesday and Thursdays through October and twice a season
there is a match with Kendal-Crosslands.
All
Lumberton Campus residents have keys to the Community Building
and thus the Fitness Center and its equipment are available
to residents at any time. Exercise classes are led by a Fitness
Department staff member three mornings a week and two afternoons
a week staff is in the center to assist residents. Slideshow

at a local diner.

Social Activities to
index
The
Social Activies Committee organizes community dinner gatherings
once a month, except June and November, in the Community Center
Great Room or in the Holly Room at the Medford Campus. These
include potluck suppers, catered dinners, and summer holiday
picnics. The committee also oversees the Welcoming Committee,
monthly Book Discussion Group, and
Friday Night Games.

The
Technology Committee is responsible for the following equipment
located in the Community Center; Copier, Computer, Internet
Wi-Fi, Printers, Audio Visual Equipment, Projection equipment,
Headsets for the hearing-impaired (used with equipment
in the Great Room), and the Low Vision Magnifier.
Committee
members are trained on proper operation of the above equipment,
and will be available to help residents become aware of what
is available to them and how to use it. Training of residents
may be done in semi-formal groups or one-on-one as needed for
specific needs.
Committee
members will be available to troubleshoot and correct problems
with the equipment that may occur from time to time.
The
Tech Committee will be responsible for posting and updating
instructions for the equipment described above, as well as obtaining
supplies and maintenance for all equipment.

Tennis to
index
The Tennis Committee supervises maintenance of the tennis courts
and sets the rules and regulations. They organize play schedules,
lessons by tennis pros, indoor play in winter, and social events.
Lumberton Trails and Site to
index
The Trails and Site Committee oversees the nine wooded trails
in the 45 acre wetland area below the campus. They also oversee
the paved walkway, the canoe dock, the meadow, the benches, the
community vegetable garden and general outdoor areas with the
cooperation of the Medford Leas Landscape and Maintenance Departments.

Lumberton
Workshop to
index
The
Workshop Committee supervises the running of the workshop which
proves a place for residents to use the many fine tools that have
been donated and provides services for all residents.
