Second place went to Owls, from Therapeutic Recreation. In third place was Mrs. Potts and Chip, by Michelle Haines, Dining Services.
Scarecrows
Each October, scarecrows are welcomed to the Medford Leas coverered walkway. Each year a theme is chosen, and this year Medford Leas staff and children from a local elementary school dressed scarecrows as famous TV and movie characters.
Remembering Dave Lewis
This week the Medford Leas Singers gathered around the tree in Court 15 that has been planted in memory of Dave Lewis. Over the years, Dave led rounds many times both at Medford Leas and with YMCA groups.
More Planting in Lumberton Meadow

The Wayward Umbrella and the Medford Leas Cowboy
On a very “blustery day,” as Winnie the Pooh called it, a patio umbrella on a Bridlington deck went sailing up to the neighbor’s roof. Sandy and Earl Evens were the wind’s victims, and the Evens thought “ah-ha, we should call the Medford Leas Cowboy,”
Journeys of the Cranes
The Senbazuru (1,000 paper cranes) created by Medford Leas residents wintered in the Large Print Library, then migrated west to the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill. Now on display in the Medford Leas Atrium, they will fly northwest at the end of the month for the celebration of World Quaker day at the Moorestown Meeting.
